Question: Does anyone else think it’s much too early for a revamp of the Spiderman film franchise?? I mean, should we be over the Tobey McGuire films already? Maybe I’m getting older and time is flying by. How long is the average waiting time between revamping film franchises (i.e. Batman, Superman, etc…)? I still recall the other 3 films as if they were released last week. Spiderman 3 was wonderful – for the most part. I don’t know about this new one with what’s his face from The Social Network. Yes, I know it’s supposed to be more in line with the comics, but still… it looks theatrically weak and juvenile. Maybe the target is a younger audience. Second, I think a more built Peter Parker, like McGuire, is more believable (since Marvel is all about realism with their heroes) than this scrawny new guy. There are some interesting things in the trailer, but as a whole I am not convinced to pay the $22 for a ticket. Long live awkward (often bad acting) Tobey McGuire!
I’m ready for a revamp. I only liked the first 2, the third was pushing it. Tobey McGuire was never a great spidey, and, like you said, awkward. I would like to watch this movie, but it’s not something I’ll rush out to see. Maybe DVD…depends how the reviews are,
